Hello I am,

Milo Hanssen.

I design and craft bespokes here at VIJZ

Hi I am Milo,

Two years ago I started the study design and craftsmanship at SintLucas, here I learn all about leather craft. I love sneakers and that’s why I want to dive deeper into shoemaking. When I saw that VIJZ was looking for a new intern I immediately send an email and I am super happy that they gave me the chance to learn all about the shoemaking! Looking forward to the next 6 months!

Interview

  • I found VIJZ when I was looking for an internship. What I really came for was shoemaking. I learned about many different ways of shoemaking and designing in the process. Even when making mistakes like sticking on the sole crooked. I also improved my pace of working during my internship. I feel like all went well since I still work here when I’m free from school.

  • I think there are several accomplishments I’m really proud of. Like participating in assignments like Radio 538, where we had to make shoes for Afrojack and Martin Garrix. I’m also very proud of the Jordan ‘85 that I made myself. I studied and analyzed different patterns and adjusted things where I found necessary. After showing my final designed patterns to Sam I got to digitalizing them and now they’ve become definit and are scaled up in all available sizes.

  • I think the Jordan 3 Pine Green is my fave, they are super comfortable and easy to combine. My love for the Jordan 3 started with that shoe. I actually chose them because I wanted a shoe that had some green on it too. After that, that pair became my daily driver. ‘Cause the rest of the shoe is black they also don’t wear out that quickly, they just stay nice haha.

At the end of my internship I was allowed to design and build my own shoe. I choose the Jordan 3, ‘cause they’re so comfortable and my favorite silhouette by far.

  • If money wouldn’t be an issue? That’s a hard one. I would get out of my parents house and buy myself a nice apartment, with a nice room dedicated to sneakers and having my own sewing machine. I’d give money to charity but also take care of the people around me, you know. But I would also make the hardest sneakers for my family and friends.

With all that money I’d want to go on a sick world trip. Experiencing other cultures and seeing their living conditions that are so different to ours.

  • I think I’d choose to turn people's voices off in the train. Generally I don't find people annoying but it's so annoying when I hear those youngins gossiping and screaming through my music like crazy.
